series next to India
Srilanka replaces Hasaranga
Sri-lanka have replaced a 16-number crew led by Charith
Aslanka for the forthcoming T20I series against India.
Aslanka substitutes Wanindu Hasaranga, who stepped down as
captin after the 20T 29 World Cup freshly. The restored crew also see veteran Angelo Mathew and the experienced
Dhananjaya de Silva go out and other senior players in Dinesh Chadimal, kusal
Janith Perera coming in, making main changes from their gloomy world cup
campaign.
Moreover, uncapped 21-year old Chamindu Wickramsinghe,
Binura Fernando and Avishka Fernando find themselves in support while Sadeera
Samarawickrama and Dilshan Madhushanka leave out.
Asalanka had led Jaffna Kings to title-win in the recently-
concluded Lankan Premier League where Avishka was the highest run- getter amid
Sri Lankan players. Kusal Perera too overwhelmed with a 296 run tally at a
strike rate of 169. On the bowling front, left arm seamer Binura Fernando makes
a comeback to the national side after picking 13 wickets in eight outings in LPL
This will be Sri Lanka's initial T20I series after being
knocked out during the first round of the World Cup held in USA in addition to
West Indies.
Sri Lanka will take on the world champions India in the
three- match series over four days all of which will be played in Pallekete opening
on July 27.
