hints below carefully and complete the story. Give suitable title and also
write moral of the story.
1. Hare and
tortoise……. Decide to have a race….who is faster…. Race starts…hare runs
fast…..reaches far ahead…. Decides to rest….falls asleep… tortoise walks
slowly….overtakes sleeping hare….wins the race.

Title of the story: The hare and tortoise
Once upon a time a hare and tortoise decided
to have a race. They wanted to find out who was faster. Of course, the hare was
sure he would win the race and made fun of the slow tortoise. Soon the race
started.
The hare
began to run fast and was soon far ahead. The poor tortoise walking slowly was
far behind. The hare saw a farm of carrots. He jumped into it and ate some
carrots. Soon he felt sleepy, so he thought of taking a short snap and slept
under the shade of the tree.
Meanwhile the tortoise walked on slowly but
steadily. Soon he overtook the sleeping hare, reached the finish line and won
the race.
Moral of the story: Slow but steady wins the race.

2. A crow finds a piece of cheese… hungry fox… wants it
… thinks of a plan…..praises crow…. His voice…..crow flattered…. Opens mouth to
sing…..drops cheese… fox runs away happily with cheese.

Once a crow
found a piece of cheese and flew away with it. He sat on the branch of a big
tree to eat the cheese. A hungry fox was passing by. He saw the cheese and
wanted it. He quickly thought of a good plan.
He sat under the tree and said, “Oh Mr. crow,
how beautiful you look! What shiny black feathers you have! I am sure you have
a wonderful voice. I wish I could hear it.” The crow was highly flattered on
hearing these words. Without thinking, he opened his mouth to show off his
lovely voice. Of course the piece of cheese fell down. “Thank you very much,
you really are very foolish”, said the clever fox as he picked up the cheese
and ran away happily.
Moral of the story:
Never
believe all you hear

There was a
dog. He was very greedy. One day he went to a butcher’s shop. He stole a bone
and ran away outside the town. He reached a stream. There was a bridge over the
stream. The dog went to the middle of the bridge. He looked into the water. He
saw his own reflection. He thought there was another dog in the stream and the
other dog too had a bone in his mouth. The greedy dog wanted to have that dog’s
bone also. So he started barking. His own bone fell into the water. He had to
go hungry. He felt very sad.
Moral of the story: Don’t be greedy

One day an
ant fell into a stream. A dove saw the ant is in danger. It dropped a leaf near
to the ant. Ant climbed upo on the leaf. The dove flew with it to the bank of
the stream. The ant thanked the dove and became friends.
After some
days a hunter came to the forest. He saw the dove sitting on the tress. He took
his gun and aimed the dove. The ant saw this. Immediately it went near to the
hunter. And bit the hunter’s leg. The hunter missed his aim. The dove flew
away. After some time hunter went away. The dove came back to the ant. Thanked
the ant for its help.
Moral of the story: if you do good, good will come to
you.

Title: THE BOY WHO CRIED WOLF
There was a
farmer. He asked his son to take care of grazing sheep every day. The boy was
very naughty. While taking care of sheep the boy got bored. He had an idea in
his mind. He thought to have fun. So he shouted, ‘” wolf came, wolf came”. The
villagers ran towards him to help him chase the wolf away. As the villagers
reached the boy there was no wolf. The boy was laughing at them. The villagers
got angry upon him and yelled at the boy.
On the next day the boy again shouted, “Wolf
came, wolf came”. Again the villagers came to help him and they did not find
the wolf again. Again they got angry upon the boy. On the same day after some
time the boy saw a real wolf. He shouted t, “wolf came, wolf came” but no
villager came to the boy, thought the boy is kidding again. The real wolf came
and ate sheep. The boy lost his sheep. The boy felt sad and sorry on his
behavior of making fun.
Moral of the story: Don’t play with people’s trust,
when it matters the most, they won’t believe in you.

Mohan was a
good boy. But he fell into a bad company. His father was very sad. So he
thought of a plan.
One day he
gave some good apples to Mohan. In those apples one was a bad, spoiled apple.
Father said him to keep all the apples in one basket and observe for some days.
After some days all apples spoiled. Then father explained Mohan how one bad
apple spoiled all apples. In the same way company of bad people make a good
person bad. Mohan learnt a lesson from this and gave up a bad company. His
father became happy.
Moral of the story:
Better alone than in a bad company
