Here are some reasons, you need to stop stressing about Proverbs in English language.
Today’s world is fond of shortcuts. Everyone
uses whatsapp shortcuts while talking also. Means everyone become faster as
they want to be the first in everything.
But some shortcuts in English language
have different meaning.
Many native speakers of English use
PROVERBS. They are short, pithy and terse. But they enhance the beauty of the
language.
So many non native speakers unaware
about these proverbs but would like to learn about that.
So let’s learn what are proverbs? And it's importance and some examples.
Proverbs use in not only in English language but also in other languages like Marathi, Hindi, Urdu, and many more languages. But the native speakers only understand the meaning of the particular proverbs in their own language. Proverbs have hidden meaning which can be understood by the known person. So proverbs may help to mock someone or to make fun of someone or else to praise someone for outstanding work.
Actually saying these proverbs are like the ornaments of the language.
A phrase means proverb is
expressing a basic truth which may be applied to common situations. It is a
short saying in general use which expresses popular wisdom or practical truth.
Or we can say proverbs are commonly held leads or beliefs of experienced
persons.
For example: "Barking dogs🐕
never bite" it is basic truth. “Penny penny makes many " is
popular wisdom.
A proverb is a short sentence taken from long experience. So proverbs are mostly pithy and terse, and embody rich experience. They express so much in very few words.
More often the hidden meaning
of the proverb is under its surface meaning. For instance take the
proverb ' A picture is worth a thousand words' means, not exactly a
picture has price of thousand words. But actual meaning is an image can
give a vivid description of any matter.
No doubt that we are using proverbs
from past, some proverbs we are using from ancient time and still have meaning
and usable. Some proverbs are national and some of them are using universally
too.
Proverbs are there to
teach you something in your life. Proverbs give you advice in the life and can
connect to any kind of situations, at some level. In other words I would like
to say 'proverbs works as a teacher in your life'. Very small words teach you a
lot; though words are small they have it own weight to teach you something.
Sometimes lengthy speech or lecture cannot reach to you but Proverb can
easily help you to learn.
And if you want to speak high
quality English to then it is must for you to learn proverbs. As there is
a proverb ' A little knowledge is dangerous' like that if you learn many
proverbs then you can speak fluently as a native speaker of
English.
