What is past perfect tense with example?

The past perfect tense is quite easy
to understand. This tense talks about ‘past in the past’.
The past perfect tense is used to
talk about actions that were completed before sometime in the past or before
another action happened. It talks about time up to a certain point in the past.
This tense also shows the order of
two past events. The earlier action and the past simple show the later action.
It doesn’t matter which event is mentioned first- the tense makes it clear
which one happened first.
