The future continuous tense denotes action at a particular moment in the
future. This verb tense indicates that something will occur in the future and
continue for an expected length of time. The action will have started before
that moment but it will not have finished at that moment.
For example:
Tomorrow I will be working at 5pm.
The future continuous tense refers to an incomplete action or event that
will be in progress at a time later than now.
The structure of the future continuous tense is
Subject + auxiliary verb
will/shall+ auxiliary verb be + V1+ing + remaining part of the sentence
She (subject) +will be
(future tense of verb ‘to be’) + going base verb+ing) + to school by this time
tomorrow (remaining part of the sentence)
Some more examples of Future Continuous
Tense are as following.
1. I shall
be going to school tomorrow at 9am.
2. We shall
be going for morning walk at 7 am.
3. He will
be playing piano in the next annual function.
4. She will
be distributing toys to poor children at 6pm on next Sunday.
5. They will
be visiting to my house on next Monday.
6. Shania
will be playing harmonium tomorrow at 5pm.
7. Rocky
will be playing football match in next session.
8. Children
will be playing on this playground next year.
9. People
will be enjoying this movie on next Friday.
10. My
mother will be baking cake for my birthday at this time tomorrow.
* The future continuous is used to
a certain extent a few different purposes.
1. The future continuous tense can be used to
plan ourselves into the future.
For example:
1. By the next year I will be singing like professionals.
2. This time next Monday we will be sitting in the train.
2. The future continuous tense can be used to
indicate to continuous events that we expect to happen in the future.
For example;
1. I’ll be going to Singapore on next Sunday.
2. He’ll be coming next month so we can meet him.
3. The sentence with still, the future continuous refers to events
that are already happening now and that will continue for some time into the
future.
For examples,
1. In an hour he’ll still be coming to my house.
2. Next year still she will be studying in the same institute.
3. The stock prices will still be rising in the next week.
