1. Saibai Nimbalkar
Saibai was the first wife and chisf consort of chatrapati
Shivaji ,the founder of Maratha Empire. She was the mother of her husband’s
successor Chattrapati Saambhaji. Shivaji MAharaj was married on 14 May 1640 Ad
in Lala Mahal Pune. Her father’s name was Mudhoji Rao Nimbalkar . And her
mother’s name was Teubai . Saibai Nimbalkar gave birth to four children, whose
names were Sambhaji, Ambikabai, Sakhubai and Ranubai. Saibai Nimbalkar breathed her last on 5
September 1659
2. Soyarabai Mohite
Soyarabai Mohite is the second wife of Chhatrapati Shivaji
Maharaj. She was the daughter of
Sambhaji Mohite. Her elder
brother was Hambirrao Mohite who was army chief of Maratha. the marriage took
place as Tukabai , step mother of Shivaji and paternal aunt of Soyarabai
insisted. She gave birth to a son Rajaram and daughter Balibai. The date of
their marriage is unclear but various sources say the years 1660 AD or 1642 AD
or 1650 AD
3. Putalabai bhosale
The third wife of Shivaji Maharaj is Putalabai Bhosale. The
marriage took place in 1653. She was from the Palkar family, she was the sister
of Netaji Palkar.Being the eldest and childless among the surviving wives of
Shivaji Maharaj, she committed Sati by throwing herself to the funeral pyre of
Shivaji Maharaj.
4. Sakvarbai Gaikwad
Sakvarbai Gaikwad was forth wife of Shivaji Maharaj, who was
from the Gaikwad family. The marriage took place in January 1656. She is also
known as Kamalabai.
5. Sagunabai Shirke
She was the fifth wife of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. she
was the mother of Rajkunwarbai.
6. Kashibai Jadhav
Kashibai is the sixth wife of Shivaji Maharaj. She was from
the jadhav family from the Sindkhed.her father Santajirao Jadhav and
grandfather Achaloji Jadhavrao are brother
of Jijabai , mother of Shivaji Maharaj.
7. Lakshmibai Vichare
Lakshmibai is the seventh wife of Chhatrapati Shivaji
Maharaj. Their marriage had taken place when Shivaji Maharaj was in the secret
mission of Jawali.
8. Gunvanti bai
Gunwantibai is the eighth wife if Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
She was from the Ingale family from Chikhali Village.
